Our School
History
Buttonville P.S. is named after John Button, a landowner of some 300 acres in 1808. Major Button was a supporter of law and order, who demonstrated his loyalty by leading the Markham Dragoons in the War of 1812.
His leadership in both the community and the cavalry earned him the honour of having his family name remembered in the name of Buttonville.
Our school colours are black and red, and our mascot is the Bulldog. Our school motto is: "Learning and Growing Together".
Facilities
Buttonville P.S. was officially opened in September 1991.
A child care centre, Buttonville Child Care, owned and operated by Upper Canada Child Care is located at Buttonville P.S. Buttonville Public School also works in partnership with nearby Chapel Place Day Care.
